Goodbye October

                                                            Another month has slipped by so
                                                            quickly.We had such lovely weather
                                                            here this past month ~ so far we have
                                                           not had a killing frost so the annuals are
                                                           still doing well in windowboxes etc.

                                                             Last evening we went for a drive to enjoy
                                                           the autumn beauty and a sunset over the harbor
                                                           in North Rustico.but before we left home we
                                                          enjoyed the beauty of our own pond in autumn colors.

                                                             I love these calm sunny evenings when
                                                        everything is reflected in the water.

                                                          These are a few of my favorite shots from
                                                          past Octobers.

                                                              Lounging with a book and hot apple cider
                                                             in the autumn sunshine is one of my
                                                             favorite things to do.

                                         Coming home we saw this pretty autumn display

                                                          Do you find it hard to say goodbye to the
                                                          beautiful month of October? I confess
                                                         November was never my favorite month but
                                                         I do love the Christmas season so my focus in
                                                         November is getting decorated for Christmas and
                                                         before I know it , Christmas is here!

                                                            I hope all the little ones have a safe and fun
                                                            time tonight.

Blue & White Toile & Transferware

I was looking through my files today trying to

clean things up a bit as I have way too many

photos saved.

However, I found these photos that I

took awhile ago for my

Afternoon Tea book and

didn't use so I thought

you might enjoy seeing them.

                                                                     As many of you know, I am a bit
                                                                    of a dishaholic.

                                                                  I love transferware in all colors.

                                                             I collect it mainly at thrift shops or yard sales.

                                                                   However, a few pieces were new
                                                                   like the ones above.

                                                                      Toile is another favorite of mine ~
                                                                      whether it is fabric or wallpaper.

                                                             Well, that is a few of my blue and white
                                                                        transferware and toile. Someday, I will
                                                                        show off some of my other collections.

A Beautiful Book and Tea Time

                                                                  

                                                                           Welcome!

                                                       I hope you had a lovely weekend.
                                                       We were invited to a family brunch,
                                                       and a birthday celebration for my brother
                                                       and I also was invited to a lovely afternoon
                                                       tea.

                                                       Today, my tea time is a blue and
                                                       white theme and again a mix of
                                                       patterns. Blue and white always
                                                       looks so crisp and fresh.

                                                         With my tea I have a beautiful
                                                          new book that was an amazing
                                                         gift from a fellow gardener and
                                                         photographer all the way from
                                                         Norway.

                                                             When this beautiful book arrived in the mail
                                                             everything stopped as I made a cup of tea
                                                             and sat down to enjoy it all.

                                                                It is amazing to me that even though we are
                                                                 so far apart we have many of the same plants
                                                                in our gardens and even the same color preferences.

                                                                     I love her greenhouse.

My Cozy Boathouse Nook

                                                                      Happy Weekend!

                                                     Now that autumn is in full swing I decided
                                                     to give my favorite little reading nook in the
                                                     Boathouse a warm and cozy look and feel for
                                                    these cooler days.

                                                 So I dug out my muted brown curtains and
                                                 lined the side panel with cream crochet lace curtain
                                                 panel. I love the wool blanket so warm and cozy.

                                                   My autumn teacup with a honey crisp apple
                                                   and a good book is all I need to relax and
                                                  enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

I picked a lovely autumn bouquet

from the garden to admire.

                                                          An Autumn wreath on the window
                                                          and some lighted candles.

                                                            The antique needlework pillow
                                                           was a yard sale find.

                                                         The lace bed skirt was also a curtain panel.

    When the sun isn't shining to warm it

     up a little a small heater does the job.

                                                  Well,now you know where I will
                                                           be relaxing on these lovely autumn days.
