Comfort Food

                                                                     Yesterday, the weather turned cooler
                                                                     here so it was a good day to be indoors
                                                                     doing a little cooking and baking etc.
                                                                        A bowl of homemade vegetable beef
                                                                    soup on a cool autumn day tastes so good.

                                                                     
                                                        I tried a new bread recipe to go with it this time
                                                        ~ whole grain Irish Soda Bread. It was very
                                                       good hot out of the oven.

                                                                  For our tea time treat I made a
                                                                 delicious loaf of Orange Pumpkin
                                                                  Bread. I have to say our kitchen
                                                                 smelled so good!

Cozy Autumn

                                                  I hope your week is going well. I am enjoying
                                                  our beautiful autumn here.
                                                I know I shared this beautiful autumn arrangement
                                               from my friend Snow before but it had a little
                                               makeover with some new dahlia's from our garden.

                                                               I love the autumn light in our library.

                                                              for a makeover.

                                  There is something special about the coziness of autumn
                                            don't you think?

Relaxing Afternoon Tea

                                                                    Hello everyone,

                                               It is a beautiful sunny autumn day here and my
                                               tour with my Japanese visitors is over until
                                               tomorrow. So, the house is tidy, the garden
                                              is fine and I have time to relax and enjoy my
                                              own little afternoon tea. Life doesn't get much
                                              better than that!

                                      

                                                  So with a pot of tea and a pretty Shelley teacup
                                                  I am going to relax on the chaise in a sunny
                                                 corner of our bedroom.

                                                             and a needlepoint pillow.

                                    It is a perfect afternoon to enjoy afternoon tea
                                             and maybe even an hour or so with a book in
                                             the boathouse.Ah! I love these beautiful Autumn
                                             days!

Happy Thanksgiving!

      Happy Thanksgiving!

                                                         Here in Canada it is Thanksgiving weekend
                                                         so I wanted to take a moment to stop in and
                                                         wish my Canadian friends a Happy Thanksgiving
                                                         weekend.
                                                                                                                                                                                       

                                   It is beautiful here this weekend with all the autumn colors.
                                            This week I hope to take some final shots of the garden before
                                            the fall cleanup starts and share them with you.
                                             The beautiful autumn centerpiece was a lovely gift from a
                                             sweet friend......thank you,Snow!

Autumn Reflections

We are enjoying beautiful autumn weather here

and you can see some of the autumn colors

 around our garden and woods etc.

So on calm still mornings or evenings

I enjoy seeing autumn reflected in the pond.

                                                               This is how the day started out.

                                     Here, I am reflecting back on a previous
                                              autumn. this was taken in our garden a
                                              couple of years ago by the fence and gate
                                              that my husband made.

Frosty Autumn Light & Tea

It was such a beautiful autumn day here today but

overnight we did have a touch of frost.

So it was the perfect morning to get out

early with my camera.

                                                  These shots were all taken close to our home.

                                                Beautiful horses in the misty light of autumn.

                                                       After an early morning outing it is
                                                       nice to come in for a cup of tea.
                                                        The roses are from our garden
                                                       and I am using my mason ~ Vista
                                                       transferware tea cups today.

                                                  This sweet little teapot was a lovely gift.

                                         The beautiful quilted table runner was also a lovely gift....
                                          always admired by my Japanese visitors!
